oUR INVESTIGATION Style....
Through The Veil Paranormal Research & Investigation, approaches our investigations differently from the majority of other paranormal investigators. We use the bare minimal equipment in our investigations based on the testimony of our witnesses. Why look for unrelated variables which have no relevance to the experiences of the witnesses. We believe to truly understand an alleged haunting, it's crucial to experience what our clients have, without adding unnecessary human influence in a bid to make the phenomena to occur, which could cause bias in the evidence collected by us, as investigators.

So we devised our own style of investigation and called it the S.M.R method. S.M.R refers to the three stages of investigation: Sweep, Monitor, & React.

S.M.R Method....
As already stated above our S.M.R method is broken down in three investigation stages: Sweep, Monitor, & React.
Sweep
The sweep phase usually comes before the monitoring phase in a paranormal investigation. In this stage, investigators walk through the location with portable equipment, focusing on spots where phenomena have been reported. They check for natural or manmade causes behind the witnesses’ experiences, like consistent high EMF areas, cold drafts, light distortions, or reflections that could create the illusion of something paranormal.
What’s discovered during the sweep often shapes how the monitoring phase is set up, allowing equipment to be placed where it’s most needed. The process is careful and systematic, with detailed notes on environmental conditions, sudden temperature drops, or unexplained noises. By starting with a thorough survey, the team sets the stage for a more targeted and effective investigation.
monitor
The Monitoring phase is a crucial part of our investigations. During this phase investigators will setup equipment relevant to the reported phenomena e.g. environmental monitoring equipment, video cameras, etc. to continuously monitor the location. The aim is to witness & validate that the alleged phenomena which has been reported by the witnesses actual occurs.
Investigators often maintain a presence at the location whether at the central hub or areas of interest, sometimes for an extended period, ensuring that all data collected is thoroughly logged and time-stamped. This phase requires patience and attention to detail, as many events can be subtle or fleeting. The information gathered during monitoring is later analysed to identify patterns, anomalies, or possible explanations for reported experiences.
react
The React phase refers to the period when our investigators react to potential paranormal activity (phenomena) during our investigation. This phase typically involves documenting the unexplained phenomena e.g. unexplained sounds, visual phenomena, & documenting the immediate reactions of witnesses. Investigators will use minimal equipment which is appropriate to the phenomena e.g. video cameras, photography equipment, audio recorders, & environmental monitoring equipment.
Careful note is taken to distinguish genuine phenomena from natural explanations, ensuring that reactions are analysed with a critical and open-minded approach. The reaction phase is crucial for gathering first-hand impressions and data, which can later be reviewed to help validate or debunk reported paranormal activity.

oUR Inclusion of intuitive researchers....
At Through The Veil Paranormal Research & Investigation, we strive to bridge the gap between scientific research and spiritual investigations, working together toward the shared goal of proving or disproving an alleged haunting. While the scientific equipment and techniques we employ are valuable, they have limitations in documenting such phenomena. This is where a gifted intuitive researcher can offer unique insights, potentially guiding our team to areas of interest that warrant further investigation. All in-house and associate intuitive researchers receive no prior case information related to the phenomenon before participating in an investigation, ensuring they remain unbiased. Any information they obtain is shared solely with the Primary Lead Investigator to prevent influencing the perspectives of other researchers.

oUR choice of equipment....
Through The Veil Paranormal Research & Investigation approaches each case with a unique strategy, recognizing that no two investigations are alike. This philosophy is reflected in our careful selection of equipment, deploying only the essential tools required to thoroughly examine the reported phenomena.

While we utilize familiar equipment also found in other teams’ arsenals, we have dedicated significant time to understanding each item’s function, assessing its potential contribution to our investigations, and identifying its flaws and weaknesses. We have discovered that many pieces of equipment can be inadvertently influenced by both natural forces and human-made factors within the investigation site, as well as by external forces or human-made factors. Our experience has shown that equipment cannot be relied upon to provide a definitive confirmation of paranormal activity. Later on we talk about conducting an unbiased follow-up, looking for repetition of the experience using the same method.

Evidence....
Most evidence for the paranormal is anecdotal, meaning an individual—whether a client or an investigator—has reported it as a paranormal experience. This does not imply that they are mistaken, dishonest, or misremembering, but rather that their account is subjective. While anecdotal evidence has value, it must be supported by additional evidence before the experience can be considered scientifically proven.

Through The Veil Paranormal Research & Investigation maintains rigorous standards for what constitutes credible evidence. During investigations, we gather a range of potential evidence, including personal experiences, environmental measurements, and photographic, video, or audio recordings.
Unlike many other teams, we do not draw conclusions from a single device activation—such as a Rempod trigger—or one set of data. Equipment merely indicates that something has changed, and it is often a believer’s bias that labels it as paranormal. More often than not, natural causes or manmade interference are responsible, which we verify through an unbiased follow-up. A fundamental principle of evidence is that it should not depend on who conducts the experiment. Anyone should be able to follow the experiment’s instructions and achieve the same results, thereby reinforcing the evidence already obtained. While this is not always practical, it is essential whenever possible, as repeated experiences and consistent evidence strengthen a conclusion..
We seek multiple, corroborating pieces of evidence, with a focus on visual proof of physical phenomena that cannot be explained or replicated. While paranormal claims often lack substantiation, there are occasional findings that indicate potential activity. Confirming a haunting requires repeated, well-documented incidents, clear audio capturing intelligent responses, and visual documentation of a physical entity.
